Faust Park

Faust Park was created in 1968 after Leicester & Mary Plant donated 200 acres in Chesterfield to the city in the hopes of preserving Frederick Bates’ estate. The Historic Village contains four historic homes and fourteen additional buildings that span a time period from 1840 to 1910. The city of Chesterfield was once split into several towns, with each town having several post offices. Eventually, however, the area was merged into one city, which explains the many post offices scattered around the town. In fact, the city’s post office was named after the last post office in 1838. Exhibits include 80 different species of butterflies and 150 varieties of tropical plants.
